This program is specifically for people with ANY NEWLY RESCUED Dog, Cat or Horse from the STREETS of Puerto Rico. If you have a different situation & to confirm you and your animal qualify for this program please email us at DefensaRincon@gmail.com. Include a few photos of your animal and a very short summary of the rescue story & situation
- Once we have confirmed you qualify for this program via your email to us explained above – please make a PUBLIC Post to Facebook – In that post you tell the STORY of your animal’s rescue with a DONATE BUTTON to “Defensa Animal de Puerto Rico”. If you don’t know how to make a DONATE button like the below photo we have this video or this video which should help explain
2 ) Email us the step #1 FB Link, the Animal’s Name, Your name and phone number- our email is answered quickly during daylight hours in Puerto Rico
We will reply to your email by sending you and our Vet an email listing the services or dollar amount to be billed to Defensa Our Vets and Services are limited to the following unless special consideration has already been made in our email communications with you as mentioned above
- Aguada AMC – TNR surgeries $100 maximum, vaccinations & fecal – inital examinations only
- Mayaguez Miradero – all cat & dog services
- Hatillo Clinic 787-879-5251 “Hospital Veterinario San Francisco de Asís” – all dog, cat & horse services
PLEASE UNDERSTAND , YOU call and schedule directly with our Vets, we only have the ability to request the services they bill to us. We do NOT schedule appointments
We will work with you to raise money for unique situations & normally we can authorize some critical Vet Services immediately if you follow the above steps
For ticks and fleas use products from the local Agricola store immediately. Bath and remove all ticks and fleas (Google can assist you in this)
For Sterilizations please use our Misión Esterilización.
For ALL HORSE NEEDS we only use Dr Ramos via his Hatillo Clinic 787-879-5251 “Hospital Veterinario San Francisco de Asís” – he does make appointment to visit you at your location if you cannot trailer a horse to him. If you have an emergency we list other Puerto Rico Equine Professionals for you to contact and pay directly
Our help is driven by you. If you don’t communicate via email with us quickly when we have questions for you we can not continue to help.
We list several other groups for you to use instead of us, if our help doesn’t fit your needs.
It is important for you to keep in mind, the more you post to Facebook, email us those post links and work to help your animal the more we can help too. We have no city or government grants or money – we work with you to earn every dollar to help animals in Puerto Rico.
